Incense Holder 002 is an incense holder created with a constant question if an object can be functional yet aesthetic. The Incense Holder 002 is made up of a curved walnut and a hand craft plaster. The walnut displays an atmospheric presence that came from its inherent elegance and also works as a tray for collecting incense ashes. The rough-textured plaster is intentionally contrasted from the warm and soft walnut, while it maintains balance of the whole object. This interesting contraposition of two different materials/elements evokes a strong sculptural feel.
